I can't remember the last time I was proud of my state. But today I am.
If you'd like to discuss the opinion at all, let me know; I read it today (it was long).
Edit: I found this picture that I thought was awesome.

Here's the rules: 1. Put your iPod on shuffle, or your song list on your computer on shuffle. 2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer. 3. YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER HOW SILLY IT SOUNDS! 4. Since some of the songs won't makes sense at all by just putting them as answers, you may add some other words to make it sound like you're actually answering the question.

The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed. Well let's see.
1) Look at the list and bold those you have read. 2) Italicize those you intend to read. 3) Underline the books you LOVE. 4) Cross out the ones you started but didn't finish 5) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've read 6 and force books upon them ;-)

| Need any law books? |
[May. 29th, 2008|06:47 pm] |
So I'm realizing that I have WAY too much stuff lying around. I'd like to get rid of my law books. It's about 3 years worth of textbooks, including study guides and my notes. All the books are in good condition.
Does anyone need or know anyone who might need these books? I'm looking to get rid of them cheaply. |

| AGoT Test! |
[Jan. 31st, 2008|04:35 pm] |
Your Score: Jaime Lannister You scored 270 Adaptability, 280 Humor, 180 Integrity and 250 Activity! There are no men like me. There is only me.
You are Jaime Lannister.
Also known as The Kingslayer, you are a complex person. You are easily amused and, much like your brother Tyrion, you aren't one to keep your considerable wit to yourself. People tend to think you're arrogant and morally bankrupt, but you do have your own kind of integrity. You are very loyal to those you involve yourself with and you are far more insightful about yourself than people realize. Unfortunately, you are also far more confused about yourself than people realize. You are physically active and you are willing to work extremely hard to overcome obstacles. You are undeniably gutsy, though you can also be cocky and impulsive. You are quick-witted, complicated, and badass.
You are also similar to Tyrion Lannister and Sandor Clegane. Your polar opposite is Catelyn Stark.

| One test to rule them all... |
[Mar. 5th, 2007|01:05 pm] |
The Everything Test There are many different types of tests on the internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all. Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We're turning that upside down - all the questions affect all the results, and we've got some innovative results too! Enjoy :-) | Personality | You are more logical than emotional, more concerned about self than concerned about others, more religious than atheist, more loner than dependent, more lazy than workaholic, more traditional than rebel, more engineering mind than artistic mind, more cynical than idealist, more leader than follower, and more extroverted than introverted.
As for specific personality traits, you are intellectual (87%), religious (80%), romantic (71%), horny (61%). | | | Stereotypes | | Punk Rock | 73% | | Geek | 70% | | Young Professional | 65% | | | | Life Experience | | Sex | 29% | | Substances | 16% | | Travel | 35% | | Politics Your political views would best be described as Libertarian, whom you agree with around 68% of the time. | | Socioeconomic Your attitude toward life best associates you with Middle Class. You make more than 0% of those who have taken this test, and 58% less than the U.S. average. | If your life was a movie, it would be rated PG-13. By the way, your hottness rank is 67%, hotter than 92% of other test takers. | TAKE THE TEST brought to you by thatsurveysite |

| Merry Christmas! |
[Dec. 24th, 2006|10:54 pm] |
Merry Christmas, everyone. I hope it's as great as you all deserve. :)
I suppose if I'm updating, I should probably talk a bit about what's going on in my life. First - I graduated! I have to take a week-long class in January, and I won't get my diploma till May, but I graduated! You may call me esquire if you wish :) My future plans are still undefined (perhaps getting my masters in the fall, or perhaps not), which brings me to my next update-worthy point:
I have a job. It's nothing glamorous, but it's steady for the time being, and it's pretty enjoyable. I work for 2nd Story Software, doing tech support for their tax software. I answer phones and emails and such, telling people that they shouldn't have waited until now to file their 2005 tax returns. :) It's not too bad.
I guess the next thing is that my brother is getting married in a month. Leslie's maid of honor hosted a shower for them, and then had a party the following day to get rid of all the leftover food :) I wasn't even sure I was going to go at first, but I'm really glad I did. I saw a whole bunch of people from high school who I hadn't seen in a long time. I remembered how much I liked hanging out with all of them. Yeah, people have changed, but in nearly all cases, it was for the better. So yeah. :) Thanks everyone who was there.
Lastly, I'm looking for some quasi-medical input. I have this weird problem. If you don't want to hear about weird ailments, read no further. My issue is basically that it hurts when I sweat. Like really hurts. So, whenever I get embarrassed, or take a hot shower, or drink anything hot, it feels like spikes are poking out of my back and chest and sometimes my legs. It's really weird, and I don't know what to do about it. Has anyone else has this problem or even heard of it? I thought it was really weird.
Anyway, everyone should have a merry Christmas with their loved ones and/or families, and I hope it is awesome for everyone. I love you all. |

| Update time! |
[Aug. 31st, 2006|08:37 pm] |
So.. it's been a while since my last update. Oops. :) I have so much to say sometimes, and then I forget it all if I don't write it down right away. Anyway - a few tidbits.
1. Mr. Colton's funeral was really nice. There were over 1,000 people there, and he had an honor band made up of local professionals and band directors. They were phenomenal. Rev. Chapman gave a really excellent eulogy, and it was really a great tribute. Apparently they're building a new music facility at the high school, and they're going to name it after him.
2. Most of you know this already, but I should mention that Ellie and I broke up about 3 weeks ago. It was my idea. It was really hard. That's all I'm going to say here, but feel free to ask me about it if you want.
3. Class has started, and I think it's going to be ok. We'll see. I'm still working part time, and I'm taking a heavy load, so it'll be a busy semester, but if I can just buckle down and get the work done that I need to, I should be all set to graduate in December. After THAT, who knows? I need to take the bar, and I need to get hired somewhere. I have a bunch of interviews coming up in a couple of weeks, so we'll see how that goes.
Umm.. I think there's more, but I can't think of what to write. What do you all want to know?
Oh! Also, they are making a movie version of Sweeney Todd. It's being directed by Tim Burton, so I dunno about this. Also, Sweeney is played by Johnny Depp. To quote someone else I know, "Doesn't Tim Burton know any other people?" I mean, I like Johnny Depp a lot. I just don't think he's right for Sweeney. Oh well. |
